Chamber approves 8% adjustment over the next three years for MPU employees

The Chamber of Deputies approved the 8% increase over the next three years for employees of the MPU (Union Public Ministry) and the CNMP (National Council of the Public Ministry).

According to the bill approved this Tuesday (3), salary recovery will occur successively and cumulatively on July 1, 2026, 2027 and 2028.

The increase will apply to permanent positions, commission positions and commissioned functions, therefore not affecting attorneys or prosecutors.

Authored by the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), the text was approved in the form of a substitute rapporteur, deputy Isnaldo Bulhões Jr. (MDB-AL).

At the end of last year, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) sanctioned an 8% adjustment for . Congress had approved the successive adjustment, also in three years, but the PT member vetoed the sections that established the adjustment in 2027 and 2028.

For Bulhões, the readjustment “reaffirms this commitment to symmetry, promoting the harmony necessary for the full functioning of the Justice system.”

The approved project also defines that MPU employees who perform security functions will be called Inspectors and Institutional Police Agents.

According to the article, the MPU Institutional Police “is the administrative unit responsible for institutional security activities, whose structure will be defined in regulation”.

The text goes to the Senate for analysis.
