Hockey coach Országh: Escape from Dubai! Instead of resting after the Olympics, drama: I’m happy to be home!

On Monday, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs (MZVEZ) of the Slovak Republic registered approximately 5,000 Slovak citizens located in the Middle East, who registered on the website in connection with a request for assistance. All of them are interested in returning to Slovakia. According to the head of the department, Juraj Blanár, transportation of all is not possible due to capacity reasons, reports TASR.

According to him, repatriation flights will primarily be aimed at mothers with children or sick people. He asks other citizens to be patient. He urges other citizens in the critical region to contact travel agencies, which have a contractual obligation to take care of clients in such a situation. In the event that travel agencies have a problem with this, the minister also advises citizens to contact the ministry’s crisis center.

The Ministry of the Interior (MOI) also announced that will organize at least three repatriation flights this week. Two will be from Amman, Jordan, and one from Muscat, Oman. He will implement others depending on what stimuli he receives. The Aviation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is ready to respond to requests from the Department of Foreign Affairs. The first Slovaks from Israel and Jordan were brought by a military special Spartan C-27J. on Tuesday around 5:00 p.m. to the Bratislava airport.

Vladimír Országh (48), the coach of the Slovak hockey team, is also stuck in the Middle East.who vacationed in Dubai through a well-known travel agency. Thanks to their service, he was in Oman on Monday and in these moments, he is already in the safety of his home with his family.

“Greetings to all of you from the Middle East, currently from Oman. We would like to say a big thank you to the travel agency that she ensured a smooth transition for us from Dubai, where we were stuck during the outbreak of the conflict. Not only to us, but to hundreds of other people they arranged transportation from Dubai to Muscat, the capital of Oman,” Országh said in a Monday video on .

“Transportation took place as usual, there were some delays at the border, but the attitude of either the travel agent or the delegate was absolutely exemplary. Today we are safe, we are in Oman, in a beautiful environment. We would like to extend it here if possible, but we are already looking forward to home. The office has arranged charter flights, if everything goes according to plan, we could fly home at night,” concluded the well-known coach on Monday, who apparently went to the exotic to relax after the 2026 Olympics, where his team finished in 4th place.

The Országhs were still among the “luckier” ones, because the conflict caught up with them at the end of their vacation. “There were some families who arrived on Saturday and were already evacuated on Sunday. We are happy to be home,” he quotes his words after arriving at the Bratislava airport on Tuesday.
