Brussels – A new climate protection target will soon apply in the EU. By 2040, the international community’s greenhouse gas emissions must be reduced by 90 percent compared to 1990. The EU countries gave the final green light in Brussels. However, from 2036 up to an upper limit of five percent, the 90 percent mark can also be achieved by purchasing climate certificates from abroad.
