Actor was convicted of attacking women; Kátia Lôbo highlighted the “delicate and serious” moment and criticized the fact that the announcement was made during women’s month
On Thursday (March 5, 2026) he repudiated the party and launched his candidacy as a pre-candidate for federal deputy for Rio de Janeiro. The announcement of Dolabella’s entry into the MDB was made by the party’s state president, , on Tuesday (Mar 3).

In the text, she stated that Dolabella’s affiliation “testifies against everything” for what she stands for, how “black woman, mother, grandmother”, in relation to violence against women. According to Lôbo, the moment the country is going through is delicate and serious.
“In 2025, the ‘Call 180’ Call Center registered more than 86,000 reports of violence against women, including physical, psychological and sexual violence. And what we see is that this could be an even higher number, unfortunately, with the many cases of femicides and attempted femicides throughout these 3 months of 2026”he wrote.
Lôbo mentioned the fact that the announcement of Dolabella’s affiliation had been made “in the middle of March”which celebrates International Women’s Day. “Receiving this type of news is something that revolts and goes against everything that MDB Mulher wants to convey to women. No woman deserves to be represented by those who treat violence as a spectacle”he declared.
When commenting on his own pre-candidacy in the video released by Reis, Dolabella stated that he sees the decision as an opportunity to act on family and social issues.
“What an honor, I am grateful for the opportunity. I can guarantee that there will be no lack of struggle, that there will be no lack of desire, that there will be no lack of determination to bring back balance to the family”these.

Dolabella also published one defending his own candidacy and declaring support for the senator (PL) for the Presidency of the Republic. “I believe that Flávio Bolsonaro is the candidate who most aligns with the ideas I defend for Brazil. Therefore, I intend to support him as a candidate for President”said the actor, who thanked him for the “messages from men who feel wronged… from mothers, sisters and family members asking for something very simple: balance, voice and justice”.
CONVICTIONS AND CHARGES
Dolabella has accusations and convictions related to violence against women.
In 2008, he was convicted of assault against the actress, with whom he was in a relationship at the time. In publications on social media on Wednesday (March 4), Piovani classified the pre-candidacy as “ready joke” and questioned how someone with a criminal case can run for public office.
In 2010, model Viviane Sarahyba accused him of physical attacks during their relationship. She obtained a protective measure against the actor, who was also convicted.
The Rio de Janeiro Court sentenced Dolabella in August 2025 to 2 years and 4 months in open detention for assaulting an ex-girlfriend, Mariana Dolabella, who is also his cousin.
