The City Court of Bratislava I will on Friday from 9:00 a.m. decide on the request for detention for the accused policemen Ján Čurilla and Pavel Ďurka, who were detained by the Inspection Service Office (ÚIS) as part of the Kajúcnik operation. This was confirmed for TASR by the spokesman of the Bratislava courts, Pavol Adamčiak. The police officers are accused of abusing the authority of a public official and extortion.

The request for their custodial prosecution was given by the ÚIS investigator for collusive reasons. He is therefore afraid that they could influence witnesses, experts, co-accused or otherwise frustrate the investigation. The prosecutor agreed with the initiative and submitted a request for custody to the court on Thursday (March 5) morning.

The other detainees, including the prosecutor of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the SR Michal Šúrek and the police officers Branislav Dunček, Róbert Magula and Roman Staš, were released on Wednesday (March 4) after questioning. Those prosecuted will be released.

As part of the Kajúcnik event, the police inspectorate arrested and charged four current and two former police officers and one civilian on Tuesday (March 3). These are accusations of blackmail and abuse of the authority of a public official, which were allegedly committed in an organized manner.
