The evaluation of management in São Paulo has improved, being considered excellent or good by 45% of São Paulo residents, shows a new Datafolha survey. In April last year, the same percentage was 41%.
Another 31% evaluate the government as regular (33%) and 20% as bad or terrible (22%). A portion of 4% had no opinion.
The research was carried out between the 3rd and 5th of March. There were 1,608 interviews throughout the state of São Paulo, distributed in 71 municipalities, with a population aged 16 or over. The maximum margin of error for the total sample is two percentage points, plus or minus, within the 95% confidence level. The research is registered with the TSE: BR-06798/2026 and SP-04136/2026.
Taking into account the last 12 years, Tarcísio has an excellent or good rating that is higher or equivalent (considering the margin of error) to that of previous governors in the same period of management. In April 2022, (no party) had 23% excellent or good. In April 2018, it was 36%. In the previous government, in June 2014, Alckmin had 41%.
Tarcísio’s assessment, on the other hand, is worse than that of Alckmin in his second term, in April 2006, when the former governor had 66% excellent or good, and than that of , in March 2010, when the same percentage was 55%.
The Tarcísio government’s excellent or good rating is higher among men (49%, compared to 42% among women), among those aged 60 or over (59%, compared to 27% among those aged 16 to 24), among the less educated (54%, compared to 43% among the most educated), among residents of the interior (49%, compared to 41% among residents of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo) and among businesspeople (67%, compared to 19% among public employees).
The percentage of bad or terrible is higher among the most educated (29%, compared to 13% among the least educated), among those with a monthly family income of five to ten minimum wages (31%, compared to 17% among those with an income of up to two salaries), among public employees (41%, compared to 7% among housewives) and among residents of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (27%, compared to 14% among residents of the interior).
In another question, respondents are asked whether they approve or disapprove of the governor’s work — 64% said they approved (it was 61% in April 2025) and 30% said they disapproved (it was 33%). Another 6% don’t know.
The survey also revealed the association for voters between Tarcísio and the former president, with 69% identifying the governor as an ally of the former president. 10% say that he is an ally of , 1% that he is an ally of both, and 3% that he is not an ally of either. Another 17% don’t know.
