Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) registered a police report (BO) after being the target of a threat published on the social network X (formerly Twitter). According to the Senate Police document, the user wrote on the platform that he could repeat the attack suffered by his father, Jair Bolsonaro, in 2018 against the parliamentarian.
According to the police record, made this Saturday morning (7) by the Senate Police Secretariat, the case was classified as threat (article 147 of the Penal Code), with “political connotations”. The senator himself informed the authorities that he became aware of the publication on social media and decided to formalize the complaint.
It all started during a public discussion on the platform. A profile identified as @FiorinoCarioca, who describes himself as “Christian, truck driver, father of three and husband”, published a message questioning the origin of the attack against former president Jair Bolsonaro, then a candidate for President.
“Are you scared by the prints from Vorcaro’s cell phone? Imagine the prints from Adélio Bispo’s cell phones. Who ordered the murder of Jair Bolsonaro?”, wrote the user.
The post provoked a response from the profile @MarcosB51733320. “I don’t know who sent it. But who wants to pay me so Flávio suffers the same…”, published the accused.
The phrase makes direct reference to attack suffered by Jair during the 2018 presidential campaign.
According to the BO accessed by the report, the message was registered as threat to the senator’s integrity. The document also points out that, after publication, a print was circulated with the image of Adélio Bispo dos Santos, author of the stabbing against Bolsonaro, accompanied by the Brazilian flag. “AMNESTY FOR ADÉLIO! He just tried, but couldn’t finish the coup!!”, said the text of the montage.
The profile associated with the suspect presents himself on the social network as a member of the Clube de Regatas do Flamengo, an opponent of any government and states in his biography that “being hated by idiots is my favorite hobby”. The account has around 1,700 followers.
Bolsonaro’s stab
8 years ago, during a campaign event in Juiz de Fora, in Minas GeraisJair Bolsonaro was stabbed by Adélio Bispo while greeting supporters. The attack took place on September 6, just over a month before the first round of the presidential elections.
At the time, Bolsonaro was leading voting intention polls, but faced strong rejection and intense political polarization. The attack caused public commotion and changed the tone of the electoral campaign. Opponents reduced direct criticism of the then-candidate while he was recovering from surgeries resulting from his injury.
Investigations conducted by the Federal Police concluded that Adélio Bispo acted alone and for political motivation. Medical reports indicated that he suffers from persistent delusional disorder, which is why the court considered the attacker unaccountable. In 2019, the court decision determined the so-called improper acquittal, converting preventive detention into hospitalization in a maximum security establishment.
To date, however, theories about the existence of a possible principal they continue to circulate on social media and in political speeches, frequently reappearing in public debates, as occurred in the online discussion that preceded the threat against the senator.
With the registration of the police report, the case must now be analyzed by the authorities responsible for the investigation, who can assess possible criminal measures related to the threat published on social media.
