Coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, 83 years old, underwent surgery this Sunday morning (28), at Hospital Samaritano Barra, in Rio de Janeiro. The surgery was successful.
Parreira has been hospitalized since the 16th with lung problems. This Saturday (27), he worsened, having to breathe with the help of machines.
In his career, the coach was renowned for his successful participation in charge of the Brazilian team during the 1994 World Cup in the United States.
Parreira also coached the teams of the United Arab Emirates, in 1990, and Saudi Arabia, in 1998. He had spells with the Brazilian team in the 2000s, in addition to coaching teams such as Corinthians and Fluminense.
