Iranian authorities stated this Saturday (7) that the areas of countries neighboring the country that are being used as platforms for attacks by the United States are legitimate targets of retaliation.

“The origin of any attack will be the destination of our response,” said the speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, in the X publication. “American bases in the region are platforms for attacks on Iran.”

Earlier, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian apologized to neighboring countries for the Persian country’s attacks on other nations in the region, stating that Tehran would not attack or fire more missiles at them unless Iran is attacked by those countries.

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, commented on Pezeshkian’s statements, stating that the reduction of tensions in the Persian Gulf could only occur if countries do not give up their territories for attacks on Iran. “This gesture toward neighboring countries was practically nullified out of hand by President Trump,” Araghchi said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan warned Iran not to launch any more missiles towards Turkish territory, after a projectile fired from Iran was intercepted by North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) air defense systems before entering Turkish airspace. Qatar and Bahrain have also reported missile and drone attacks from Iran this Saturday.
