Iran’s new supreme leader “will not last long” unless he has the approval of US President Donald Trump’s administration. The head of the White House stated this in an interview with ABC News on Sunday, writes TASR. “He’s going to have to get our approval. If he doesn’t get it, he’s not going to last long. We want to make sure that we don’t have to go back every 10 years when you don’t have a president like me… I don’t want people to have to come back in five years and do the same thing again, or worse, have a nuclear weapon,” Trump said.

Iranian state media reported on Sunday that the Assembly of Experts has elected a successor to the poor Ali Khamenei, who died last weekend in US-Israeli attacks. Trump recently declared that he wants to participate in the election of the new Iranian leader. When asked if he would be willing to approve someone with ties to the old regime, the American president replied that “yes, to choose a good leader, he would approve.” According to Trump, there are many people who would qualify.
The White House chief also told ABC News that Iran “planned to dominate the entire Middle East.” “They were going to attack. Their plan was to attack the whole Middle East, to take it over,” he said. He also did not rule out the possibility that the United States would send ground troops to Iran in order to secure the enriched uranium there.
