The iconic dance show returned to TV Markíza in a special 11th series. The new season called Let’s Dance: The Best of the Best started on Sunday, March 8 at 8:30 p.m. Prominent personalities from previous years presented themselves on the floor: Ján Koleník, Jakub Jablonský, Kristián Baran, Vladimír Kobielsky, Juraj Mokrý, Nela Pocisková, Gabika Marcinková, Petra Polnišová, Zuzana Porubjaková and Jana Hospodárová.
On individual evenings, the audience will be politely accompanied by presenters from Sunday Jana Kovalčiková and Adam Bardy. Performances of competitive dance couples will be evaluated by a jury in composition Ján Ďurovčík, Tatiana Drexler, Laura Arcolinová and Richard Genzer.
The last-mentioned Czech juror lost his mind right at the beginning of the new series. When moderator Adam Bardy sent Jakub Jablonský to prepare for the dance and turned to Richard Genzer with his colleague. “I think that he only knows one person from Slovakia, Dan Dangla,” said Janka Kovalčiková and turned to Adam Bardy. “Yes, I can confirm it because I met him in the corridor before the show and as a former judge I wanted to wish him good luck and he replied: Thank you, Mr. Koleník,” made everyone in Bardy Hall laugh. Koleník couldn’t stand it and burst into laughter on the floor.
“I confused you because you’re both pretty and you both have blue eyes. In the Czech Republic, only people who were conceived with Viagra have blue eyes. So there are very few blue-eyed people here.” nailed Genzler, and juror Drexler and Koleník burst into laughter.
Right from the beginning of the gala evening, it was clear that the entertainment will be taken care of for the entire season of this year’s Let’s Dance. Richard Genzer didn’t just get the names wrong at the very beginning of the broadcast, but he also managed to do it with the third dance couple, Zuzana Porubjaková and Matyáš Adamac, who cut an energetic jive. “Where did you come from? I’ll tell you that I’m really upset, I have 4 years of dance conservatory, they forced me to do ballet, folk dance, modern dance, why did I go there for 4 years? It was useless, it was enough to be born in Slovakia and dance with Nela and Nela is me and I would be completely fine and I didn’t have to do anything. For me, wasted time.” he declared.
In that, the moderator Bardy reminded him that Porubjaková’s given name is Zuzana and not Nela. “Zuzana, Zuzana, I’m sorry. I’ll tell you one thing. We have Zuzana Nela. Zuzana, I apologize, it was very good,” Richard Genzer praised the dance performance of the pair. The Czech judge amused not only the audience but also his companions in the jury, Ján Ďurovčík laughed and grabbed his head.
