Iranian newspaper prints dead people on the cover and says: “Trump, look them in the eye”

“Tehran Times lists 100 portraits of children; according to the publication, they are all victims of the attack on the school in Minab, in the south of the country

The , Iranian daily newspaper published in English, on Sunday (8 March 2026) what would be its cover this Monday (9 March): the portraits of 100 children, accompanied by their names, who, according to the publication, were “killed on February 28, the 1st day of the attack by the United States and Israel, on a school in Minab, a city in southern Iran”. In the headline, the phrase: “Trump, look them in the eye”.

The cover image was published on . “Tomorrow’s edition of ‘Tehran Times’. Follow to know the truth”the post stated.

Authorities from the Iranian Ministry of Health and the country’s state media claim that the , in the early years of elementary school, left at least 175 people dead, most of them children. As Saturday marks the start of the working week in Iran, students and teachers were in classrooms at the time of the attack.

The said it is conducting an investigation to find out whether the country was responsible for the attack. On Thursday (5th March), the North American newspaper published a report stating that an analysis of the images suggests that the school was hit during a North American offensive against an Iranian naval base.

According to , the statements by the president of the USA, (Republican Party), about the military campaign against Iran have been marked by “a pattern of demonstrably false allegations, deflection of responsibility for atrocities, and a defiant rejection of diplomatic solutions”.

The newspaper, controlled by the Iranian regime, added that Trump has avoided questions about the attack on the school in Minab, and last week said he believed Iran was behind the attack.

“This claim, reiterated multiple times despite a rapidly growing body of evidence pointing to a U.S.-led bombing, is a blatant example of deliberate falsehood.”wrote the Tehran Times.

The Iranian publication cites reports from , New York Timesda , do and da as examples of what he calls “body of evidence”.

ATTACKS ON IRAN

The US and Israel launched the joint military operation against Iran on Saturday (Feb 28). At the beginning of the military campaign, the president of the United States, (Republican Party), stated that the objective was to put an end to the Persian regime’s nuclear program and act in . Trump also said that the of the Iranians was close.

Later, the Prime Minister of Israel, (Likud, right), confirmed the death of Iran’s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, aged 86, in one of the attacks carried out on Saturday morning (Feb 28) in Tehran. Subsequently, the Iranian government decreed 40 days of official mourning.

Since the beginning of the conflict, Iran has retaliated against at least 14 countries for Khamenei’s death, including US-allied Arab neighbors such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Kuwait.

CLIMBING IN TENSION

The event was held after weeks of tension between the 2 countries. On February 19, Trump stated that, within 10 days, he would know whether to give “one step forward” in relation to an attack against the Persian country.

Afterwards, the Republican declared that everyone, including the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces, Dan Caine, considers that a possible war against Iran would result in one.

In , on Tuesday (24.Feb), Trump said that the US had not yet heard Iran pronounce “those magic words: ‘we will never have a nuclear weapon’”. In his speech, the American president stated that the Persian regime “has already developed missiles that could threaten Europe and our bases abroad, and is working to build missiles that will soon reach the USA”.

Trump’s statements were made while dealing with Iran, which did not result in an agreement.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that the country if the Americans recognized its right to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes and lifted economic sanctions.
