A good layered salad consists of several layers, the order of which is well thought out and not just a coincidence. The order in which the ingredients are arranged is important aesthetically, but also practically – it is best to choose products that combine into a coherent whole.and at the same time they do not release too much water. Thanks to this, the layers remain distinct and the salad retains its nice appearance even after several hours in the refrigerator.
In this version, the base is boiled potatoes and eggs, which contribute to the satiety of the dish and fit well into the Easter atmosphere. This is what happens ham, corn, peas, yellow cheese and crispy pickled cucumbers. The sauce is delicate but expressive, because it is based on mayonnaise, natural yogurt and a bit of mustard. The whole thing is finished with finely chopped chives.

- 5 medium potatoes,
- 6 eggs,
- 250 g of good ham, in a piece or thicker slices,
- can of corn,
- a can of peas,
- 5-6 pickled cucumbers,
- 150 g of yellow cheese,
- small red onion,

Start by boiling the jacket potatoes. After cooling, peel them and grate them on a larger grater or cut them into small cubes. Hard boil the eggs, cool and separate the whites from the yolks. Grate the egg whites separately and the yolks separately – this simple procedure gives a very nice visual effect.
Cut the ham into small cubes. Also chop the pickled cucumbers finely and drain the excess liquid well. Place the corn and peas in a strainer to remove the liquid. Grate the yellow cheese. Chop the red onion very finely – you can pour boiling water over it first if you want to soften the taste.
In a separate bowl mix mayonnaise, yogurt, mustard, salt and pepperz. The sauce should be creamy, but not too heavy. Thanks to the addition of yogurt, the whole thing tastes lighter and still retains its festive character.
Now it’s time to layer. It is best to do this in a transparent bowl. Proposed order:
- potatoes,
- a thin layer of sauce,
- onion,
- ham,
- pickles,
- peas,
- sos,
- corn,
- grated egg whites,
- yellow cheese,
- a thin layer of sauce,
- grated yolks,
- chives for decoration.
It is worth leveling each layer slightly with a spoon, but without vigorous kneading. The salad should look light and appetizing. Once prepared, put it in the fridge for at least 2-3 hours. During this time, the flavors will combine well and the whole thing will acquire the right consistency.
