Former president Jair Bolsonaro asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) this Tuesday (10) for authorization to receive the visita de Darren Beattieadvisor to the United States government, in prison.
An ally of President Donald Trump, Beattie works for the US State Department and is responsible for matters related to Brazil.
In the request for authorization sent to the Supreme Court, Bolsonaro’s defense requested that the visit be carried out next Monday (16), in the morning, or on Tuesday (17), dates on which the advisor will be on an official visit to Brazil. The entry of a translator into the prison was also requested.
Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the process, will decide the issue.

The former president was detained on November 22 after violating precautionary measures.

In the order, the minister highlighted that the General Staff Room prepared in the 19th Battalion of the PMDF is larger (with 64.8 m², including the external area) and the penitentiary complex It has a health center. Moraes also listed that visiting hours would be extended and the number of daily meals would increase to five.
“The total lack of veracity in the complaints previously described (size of the facilities, sunbathing, air conditioning, visiting hours, origin of the food) does not, however, prevent the possibility of transferring the prisoner Jair Bolsonaro to a General Staff Room with even more favorable conditions, equally exclusive and with total isolation in relation to the other prisoners in the complex”, said Moraes.
