Today, the Slovak Republic successfully completed its 15th repatriation flight from the Middle East. The government special transported 79 people from Muscat, Oman to Bratislava, including 70 citizens of the Slovak Republic. For now, this is the last evacuation of Slovaks from Oman, from where the Slovak Republic, including Jordan, provided the largest part of repatriation flights in recent days.

The Slovak Republic plans to continue evacuation operations in the coming days. The 16th and 17th repatriation flights are to be operated from Dubai for the first time, since the highest number of Slovak citizens waiting to return home is currently registered in the United Arab Emirates.
“The Slovak Republic was one of the very first countries to start repatriating its citizens almost immediately, and so far we have managed to get more than 600 people to safety from the Middle Eastern region. It is the result of the coordinated efforts and professional work of our diplomats, consular staff, employees of the Ministries of Defense and the Interior, as well as partners in the region,” said Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Juraj Blanár.
On board today’s repatriation flight from Oman, the six-member consular crisis team of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic and the Ministry of Defense of the Slovak Republic, which in recent days worked directly at the airport in Muscat, also returned to Slovakia. Its members assisted the Slovaks in check-in and boarding the planes and helped solve the logistically difficult situation during a total of four repatriation flights.
Since the beginning of the evacuation operations, the Slovak Republic has already carried out a total of 15 flights, which transported 641 people to safety, of which 491 were citizens of Slovakia. as well as 150 citizens of another 30 nationalities. Slovakia also continues to reciprocally use the capacities of partner countries that provide places for the repatriation of Slovak citizens as part of the cooperation mechanism.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again invites people to register when staying abroad through the voluntary registration system on the i.mzv.sk/registracia website or through the Svetobežka application. He also points out again that Voluntary registration via the MZVEZ SR website or the Svetobežka application does not mean inclusion on the repatriation flight.
