The eleventh season of the spectacular dance show Let’s Dance officially started on Sunday, March 8. This year’s series is subtitled Gladiators and the Best of the Best, so viewers are looking forward to the return of the show’s biggest stars and talents. Although the stars performed brilliant dances in the very first round, no one got a full 10 points.
Spectators and contestants are in for a lot of surprises this year. The very first came at the end of the first part. “Well, before we say goodbye tonight, well let’s still let our couples tease us about what awaits them in the next round and what they will dance. So please tell us what you will dance in the next round,” moderator Adam Bardy asked the contestants.
Actor Kristián Baran stood right next to him. “Next round we dance the Viennese waltz,” he answered him. But Adam shocked him. “I really like how sure you say it, Christian, but it’s not like that, because everything will be different” he declared and the contestants just looked at him in amazement.
The second moderator, Janka Kovalčiková, joined the conversation. “Exactly. Because you are the best of the best, we have prepared all kinds of difficult situations and various challenges for you,” she explained to her colleagues in the industry. “Well, you could say, Jani, that they are obstacles. None of you will dance what you have prepared. Please turn back with us to our LED screen now,” Bardy urged the contestants.
They found out the necessary information about this change earlier from the celebrities who star in the show. “You all told us before this show started what your favorite dance was, maybe even an iconic one, and we’re going to look at them now.” explained Janka. The faces of the contestants in individual squares appeared on the screen.
“This is our dancing pexeso,” Bardy added. “That’s the point, in short, because I really like your expressions. You will only have one week to learn someone else’s iconic dance, which you will now randomly choose one by one. So we’ll ask you to cover the cards and shuffle them,” he revealed to the audience and the contestants what it would be about.
Celebrities were completely shocked by this and some even voiced their disapproval. “I don’t have time!” exclaimed Jablonský as the presenters mentioned his iconic tango in the previous series of Let’s Dance.
However, none of the contestants could dance their own dance. It was Jablonský who drew such an opportunity, who was also pleased with this choice. However, the presenters quickly explained to him that he would not get this dance, and the pexeso was mixed up again. “How not? How rules? It’s a chess board. It only has one rule, you turn it and it’s there, right? There are no more rules in chess board. It’s not chess,” Jakub was angry.
