The prosecutor’s office began investigating human trafficking in connection with Epstein: He is also asking other countries for help!

Polish prosecutors announced on Wednesday that they are investigating human trafficking in connection with American financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. He suspects that such trading really took place in the country, reports the AFP agency, writes TASR.

  • Polish prosecutors are investigating suspicions of human trafficking linked to Epstein.
  • Women, including minors, should have been lured by misleading job offers abroad.
  • Donald Tusk mentioned Jeffrey Epstein’s possible links to the Russian secret services.
  • Polish authorities are investigating domestic accomplices and are asking for help from two European countries.
  • Human trafficking in Poland is punishable by twenty years in prison.

The State Prosecutor’s Office is investigating whether women – including minors – in Poland were lured through “misleading about the true nature of potential employment abroad”.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk declared last month that authorities there are investigating possible links between the late US sex offender and Russian intelligence, as well as any ties Epstein had to Poland. Shortly thereafter, Justice Minister Waldemar Zurek announced that the Polish secret service, prosecutors and police had joined forces to investigate possible Polish accomplices in Epstein’s circle.

Prosecutors said that the perpetrators are suspected of “ensuring the transportation (of the victims) beyond the borders of the Republic of Poland and handing them over to other persons for the purpose of sexual exploitation”. Warsaw has also submitted requests for assistance in the investigation to two yet-to-be-named European countries. Human trafficking in Poland is punishable by imprisonment for up to 20 years.

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in 2008 of soliciting sexual services from underage girls aged 14 and over. He died in prison in New York in 2019. He took his own life before he could be tried on sex-trafficking charges.
