The President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Tuesday, 10, the construction of an oil refinery in the city of Brownsville, in the state of Texas. According to the president, the construction is the result of an investment of US$300 billion from India and will be the first facility for refining the commodity in 50 years.
“I thank our partners in India and their largest private energy company, Reliance Industries, for this tremendous investment,” Trump said in a post on Truth Social.
According to the president, the new refinery will supply the United States domestic market, strengthen national security, boost American energy production and generate billions of dollars in economic impact, “in addition to being the cleanest refinery in the world”.
