Moraes orders search and seizure against MA blogger – 03/12/2026 – Politics

A carried out search and seizure warrants, as determined by the minister of the (Supreme Federal Court), against a blogger from Maranhão who published about the use of a functional vehicle by the minister.

The warrants were carried out on Tuesday (10), with the search and seizure of cell phones and computers belonging to Luís Pablo Conceição Almeida, from Luís Pablo’s Blog. The information was initially published by the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo and confirmed by Sheet.

The inquiry was opened by Dino and distributed to Moraes by , opened in 2019 to investigate attacks on the Supreme Court by allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

Last November, Luís Pablo published a text stating that a car financed by the Maranhão Court of Justice was used by Dino and his family in Maranhão.

The text said that the minister and his family used a vehicle that would be intended for the official use of TJ-MA judges on private trips. When contacted through his consultancy, Dino did not comment.

In the decision of , which is under secrecy, the minister says that the PF pointed out that the blogger is suspected of the crime of persecution and used “some state mechanism for the identification and characterization of the vehicles used, which allowed undue exposure related to the security of the authorities”.

“The Federal Police also reported that on November 26, 2025, the same blog made another publication in which it published images of the vehicle, indicating effective surveillance, monitoring and monitoring, in addition to pointing out possible access to restricted information, using institutional tools, through the participation of other individuals in the action”, says Moraes.

The minister ordered the PF to also take the testimony of the blogger and “other agents with whom those being investigated have interacted through incitement and/or co-optation to commit the crimes under investigation”.

It also ordered the analysis of the seized electronic material.

In the decision, Moraes transcribes an excerpt from the PF representation that says that Luís Pablo “has already been the target of investigations in which he is suspected of committing extortion so as not to disclose information about police operations.”

Luís Pablo was contacted by email this Thursday afternoon (12), but has not yet responded.

On his blog, he said that he had “seized work equipment used in journalistic activities, such as computers and cell phones.”

“The process is being processed under secrecy at the Supreme Court, which is why, at this time, it is not possible to comment on details of the investigation. The journalist clarifies that he is still awaiting full access to the case to fully understand the basis of the decision.”

The (Brazilian Bar Association) of Maranhão stated that the action ordered by the Supreme Court causes “institutional concern”. In a statement signed by the Freedom of Expression and Press Commission, the body also mentions the “preservation of source confidentiality and protection of the free exercise of professional activity”.

“According to the jurisprudence of the Supreme Court itself, search and seizure measures must be carried out with caution and within the strict limits of the investigation that may be ongoing”, says the institution.
