Moraes questions Itamaraty about Trump’s advisor – 03/12/2026 – Brasília Hoje

The minister, from the (Federal Supreme Court), asked the Palace of Information about the diplomatic agenda that will be carried out in Brazil by the advisor to the American president, Darren Beattie.

The magistrate wants to check whether Beattie’s official commitments justify an exceptional change in the date of visitation to the former president, who is imprisoned in Papudinha due to his conviction for the attempted coup d’état.

Moraes for next Wednesday (18), from 8 am to 10 am, including authorizing the entry of an interpreter. However, Bolsonaro’s defense claimed that he asked the minister to reconsider, so that the visit could take place on Monday (16) or Tuesday (17).

The former president’s lawyers say Beattie is a “high-ranking US Department of State official whose international commitments are structured in advance and subject to a strict diplomatic schedule, especially on short-term international deployments.”

Moraes then decided to consult Itamaraty about the commitments of Trump’s advisor. After the Brazilian government provides the information, the minister will decide whether or not to grant the request to change the date.

“I request the Minister of Foreign Affairs for information about the existence of a diplomatic agenda of Darren Beattie, current Senior Advisor for Brazil Policy at the State Department of the United States of America, and possible request for a visit to Jair Messias Bolsonaro”, says Moraes’ order.

Darren Beattie is critical of the Lula and Moraes government. He has already called the minister “against Bolsonaro. Furthermore, he received thanks from former deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP) after the Magnitsky Law sanctions imposed on the minister.

Trump’s advisor will be in São Paulo and Brasília for, according to the Sheete must meet with the senator and pre-candidate for President (PL).

Beattie will also deal with court decisions that determined the blocking of profiles on social networks as part of the investigations into “fake news” and digital militias, which are being processed in the Supreme Court under the report of Moraes.

He must still have a broad agenda with the (Superior Electoral Court), which from June onwards will be commanded by STF ministers appointed by Bolsonaro, with .
