Vienna – The legislative package, which, among other things, provides for an earlier advertisement for the position of ORF general director, passed the Constitutional Committee of the National Council on Thursday with the votes of the coalition parties. In future, the position will be advertised nine – instead of the previous six – months before starting work. An eight-month exception is planned for this year, meaning that the five-year term of office from 2027 must be advertised by the beginning of May.
