US Central Command has announced that it has become aware of the loss of an American KC-135 aerial refueling aircraft. The incident occurred in friendly airspace during Operation Epic Fury, while rescue operations are underway.
Two aircraft were involved in the incident. One aircraft crashed to the west, while the second landed safely.
