The war between Iran, the United States and Israel approaches two weeks with military escalation and continuous exchange of attacks. Amid the intensification of the conflict, US President Donald Trump said he considers it “an honor” to target Iranian fighters during military operations.
“It is an honor to kill Iranians,” said Trump, commenting on the Washington-led offensive against the country in a social media post this Friday (13).
The president also said that American forces are inflicting severe damage on Iran’s military structures. US military officials say the campaign is rapidly degrading the regime’s military capabilities.
The commander of the United States Central Command (Centcom), General Brad Cooper, stated that American forces are “totally destroying” Iranian military targets in the conflict.
The war began on February 28, when the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran’s military and nuclear facilities. Since then, Tehran has responded with missiles and drones against Israel and Washington’s allies in the Gulf.
Clashes spread across several countries in the region. Attacks and interceptions of drones and missiles were recorded in Gulf countries, while Israel expanded operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The escalation has also raised risks to commercial shipping and global energy supplies. The Strait of Hormuz, through which about a fifth of the oil transported in the world passes, has become one of the main sources of tension, with attacks on ships and threats to mine the route.
Despite the intensification of fighting, Iranian officials said they will continue to respond to military operations. With both sides reinforcing their positions, the conflict approaches its second week without clear signs of de-escalation.
