Brazilian diplomacy confirmed this Friday the revocation of the visa of an advisor to the President of the USA, who intended to visit Jair Bolsonaro in prison in Brasília, for “falsifying information”.
“Taking into account the omission and falsification of relevant information regarding the reason for the visit on the occasion of the visa application, in Washington”, summarized the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a note released by Agência Brasil.
“This is a sufficient legal principle for visa denial, in accordance with national and international legislation”, highlighted the Itamaraty.
Earlier today, the Brazilian Presidento, Lula da Silva said he had revoked the visa of an advisor to the US head of state who intended to visit Jair Bolsonaro in prison.
According to Lula da Silva, the senior advisor for US policy towards Brazil at the United States Department of State, Darren Beattie, will only enter the country when the Brazilian Minister of Health, Alexandre Padilha, whose visa was revoked last year by the US Government, can enter the United States.
“That American guy who said he was coming here to visit Jair Bolsonaro, he was banned from visiting and I banned him from coming to Brazil, until he releases the visas of the Minister of Health, who is blocked,” said Lula da Silva during an event in Rio de Janeiro.
“You know that they blocked Padilha’s visa, his wife’s visa and his 10-year-old daughter’s visa, you know? So, Padilha, be sure that you are being protected”, reinforced Lula da Silva.
At issue is a visit requested by Jair Bolsonaro’s defense so that the former president sentenced to more than 27 years in prison could welcome Darren Beattie to prison next week.
“The carrying out of Darren Beattie’s visit, requested in these documents by the Defense of Jair Messias Bolsonaro, is not part of the diplomatic context that authorized the granting of the visa and his entry into Brazilian territory, in addition to not having been previously communicated to the Brazilian diplomatic authorities, which could even lead to the reanalysis of the granted visa”, reads the new decision.
Beattie, currently senior advisor for US policy towards Brazil at the US State Department, had previously accused Moraes of persecuting Bolsonaro and his supportersthe imposition of sanctions on the judge was defended.
However, this Friday morning, the former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro was transferred from prison in which he is serving his sentence in a hospital in Brasília after experiencing health problemsnominated his son and senator Flávio Bolsonaro.
The leader of the Brazilian extreme right was diagnosed with bronchopneumoniathat is, with liquid in the lungs, as a result of bronchial aspiration, said his eldest son at a press conference outside the DF Star health center, in Brasília.
Bolsonaro began serving a prison sentence on November 25, 2025.as a result of the conviction on September 11, 2025 for the crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, qualified damage by violence and serious threat and vandalism (deterioration of listed heritage).
