Two towns in Soria confined due to the accident of a truck with dangerous substances | Spain

Two municipalities in the province of , Montuenga de Soria and Aguilar de Montuenga, have been preventively confined during the early hours of this Saturday due to the fire of an articulated truck that was transporting dangerous chemicals while traveling on the A-2, which has been cut off.

The Junta de Castilla y León activated level 1 of the Special Dangerous Goods Plan at 3:20 a.m., of which this preventive isolation is part of as a result of the collision between a car and the truck with chemical substances, at kilometer 172 of the A-2 (Northeast Highway), in the vicinity of Arcos de Jalón (Soria).

In the accident, recorded around 00:15 this morning, the driver of the car was seriously injured and the driver of the truck that was transporting various dangerous goods (classes 3, 5, 8 and 9) was slightly injured and which burned completely, Emergencies 112 Castilla y León sources have reported.

For this reason, level 1 of the Special Plan for Dangerous Goods of Castilla y León has been activated with the preventive isolation of the municipalities of Montuenga and Aguilar de Montuenga and both directions of the A-2 (direction Madrid and Zaragoza) have been closed for several hours. After almost six hours, the fire was controlled and extinguished.
