The Formula 1 Grands Prix in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia have been canceled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the FIA (International Automobile Federation) announced this Saturday (14).
“Today it has been confirmed that, following a thorough assessment and due to the current situation in the Middle East region, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will not be contested in April,” the FIA said in a statement.
Free practice, qualifying and Formula 1 races in these two Gulf Arab countries, which have been frequent targets of Iranian attacks since the end of February, were scheduled for April 10-12 and April 17-19, respectively, and will not be replaced by other Grands Prix.
