“The Rafah Crossing will reopen for circulation in both directions from next Wednesday (March 18), with only limited movement of people”, revealed the statement from the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (Cogat, its acronym in English).
According to the note, the decision was taken after a security assessment to allow flow to resume in the region that guarantees the necessary restrictions. Operations will be facilitated in coordination with Egyptunder the supervision of the European Union. Additional screening and identification procedures will also be conducted at the so-called “Regavim route,” a military inspection complex controlled by the Israel Defense Forces, according to the agency.
