The health condition of Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit, who suffers from chronic pulmonary fibrosis, has deteriorated again. DPA’s spokeswoman confirmed this on Tuesday. For this reason, the Crown Princess is not expected to be present at events connected with the Belgian royal couple’s visit to Norway next week.
Crown Princess Mette-Marit suffers from a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis. Ide o a severe and chronic lung disease that causes scarring of the lung tissue, leading to shortness of breath and other symptoms. In December, the Norwegian Royal Court stated, that the Crown Princess’s health has deteriorated and that she will need a lung transplant.
