Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto threatened his wife’s cousin, military police officer Gisele Alves Santana, because of conversations between them on social media. According to a Civil Police report, the case occurred after a family member commented on a photo of the woman on the internet.
Messages taken from Geraldo’s cell phone show the record of the “charge”. In a direct conversation in the virtual environment, the lieutenant colonel sent Gisele’s cousin the message below:
Good afternoon. I am Gisele’s husband. I have access to her social networks and she has access to my social networks. I printed your conversations with her. I think you (sic) are having a lot of conversations with my wife. So my friend, get your bearings! (sic)
The case took place on February 6, 2025. Even though it was a family member, the interaction aroused jealousy in the man.
At the time, Geraldo used the access he had to the woman’s profile to “print” conversations with her cousin. After the messages, Gisele apologized to the boy for her husband’s behavior.
The episode was used by the authorities to corroborate the statements of family members about the social isolation imposed on the military police officer. The woman was killed in the middle of last month and the man was arrested this Wednesday (18) for feminicide and procedural fraud.
“Married Rules”
The final report from the São Paulo Civil Police indicated that lieutenant colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto established “married rules” to be followed by the wife, also a military police officer Gisele Alves Santana.
According to the document, Geraldo tried to impose a kind of “submission manual” which should be followed by Gisele. Investigations showed that the man exercised severe coercive control by monitoring the woman’s appearance, behavior and even her professional life.

“You will never be single”
In messages exchanged between Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto and his wife Gisele Alves Santana on February 13, the woman made it clear to him that the relationship was over and that she no longer felt married.
In the dialogue, the PM stated that she was “practically single”. The lieutenant colonel’s response was: “Never! Never will be!”.
According to the Civil Police report, Gisele clearly expressed the desire to end the marriage.
In other messages sent in the days before the crime, she wrote: “I want a divorce”, in addition to requesting the sending of documents to formalize the separation and stating: “Consider yourself divorced”.
The woman would have said phrases such as “the admiration is over”, “let’s separate” and “there’s no way to live like this”.
Lieutenant colonel was arrested
Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Leite Rosa Neto, indicted by the São Paulo Civil Police for the death of his wife, PM Gisele Santana, was arrested on Wednesday morning (18).
The police had asked the São Paulo Court for a preventive arrest warrant this Tuesday (17), which was granted by the Military Court and fulfilled by the Military Police Internal Affairs with the support of the 8th DP (Belenzinho).
Geraldo was arrested at his residence in São José dos Camposin the interior of São Paulo, and taken to the Romão Gomes Military Prison.

According to the Scientific Police experts from São Paulo, the lieutenant colonel approached the victim inside the residence. The approach occurs from behind, taking Gisele by surprise.
Geraldo would have immobilized the victim, grabbing him from behind. Gisele tried to free herself from the attack. At that moment, the suspect holds a firearm close to her head.
O report identified compatible injuries with finger pressure on the lower part of the PM’s face and on the right side of the neck. A superficial nail mark was also found.
For experts, these marks indicate that there was a physical struggle or attempted choking before the fatal shot.
What does the lieutenant colonel’s defense say?
“The law firm MALAVASI SOCIEDADE DE ADVOGADOS, hired to assist Lieutenant Colonel GERALDO LEITE ROSA NETO in monitoring the investigations relating to his wife’s suicide, has come forward to provide clarifications.
Faced with the recent double decree of arrest of the lieutenant colonel for the same facts before both the Military Court and the Common Court, the defense is appalled by the maintenance of the competence of both jurisdictions.
He informs that he was aware of the requests for arrest against him since March 17th, not only did he not hide, but also spontaneously provided proof of address before the Court, the place where the arrest warrant was served, an act which, although clearly illegal, as it was issued by an incompetent authority, he did not oppose, having maintained the stance adopted since the beginning of the collaboration investigations with the competent authorities.
Finally, he informs that he has already filed a complaint with the STJ against the decree issued by the Military Justice and that he is studying the handling of habeas corpus regarding the decision of the 5th Jury Court of the Capital.
He reiterates that information and interpretations continue to be disseminated that affect aspects of his private life, often through decontextualized content, causing undue exposure and repercussions that affect his honor and dignity.
