A projectile of unknown origin hit a ship off the coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) south of the Strait of Hormuzthe UK Maritime Trade Operations Agency (UKMTO) said late on Wednesday. TASR informs about it according to the reports of the DPA and AFP agencies and the Sky News station.
The strike occurred when the ship was about 20 kilometers east of the UAE city of Khor Fakkan, near the southern entrance to the Strait of Hormuz, the agency said. The strike caused a fire on board, with no casualties reported. Since the beginning of the US-Israeli attacks in Iran on February 28, ships in the Persian Gulf, the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman have been repeatedly hit by missiles.
