The Slovak Bar Association (SAK) received with deep concern the news about Friday’s violent physical attack on a female lawyer in Trebišov. “We condemn any physical attacks on anyone, but at the same time we express very serious concern at the suspicion that the motive of the perpetrator’s attack could have been the exercise of the legal profession itself,” said the SAK media department.
The police reported that on Friday morning there was a physical attack with a sharp object in one of the shopping chains in Trebišov. The injured person suffered injuries, the extent of which is currently being investigated. Paramedics took a 54-year-old woman to the hospital with a superficial head and face injury.
According to the police, the suspect was arrested on the spot and then escorted to the police station. A hitherto unknown sharp object was used in the attack. “We express our full support to our colleague and trust the law enforcement authorities in the proper and legal procedure and proper investigation of the case,” SAK said in a statement.
