LeBron James equals record for games played in the NBA – 03/20/2026 – Sports

LeBron James, the NBA’s record man, tied with Robert Parish on Thursday night (19) at the top of the list of players with the most games played in the North American basketball league.

‘King James’ equaled the mark of 1,611 games, a record that Parish held alone for almost three decades, during the Los Angeles Lakers’ visit to the Miami Heat.

The 41-year-old winger was a doubt until the last moment, but ended up joining the starting five for the clash against Miami, the team with which he won two championship rings, in 2012 and 2013.

Parish, a Boston Celtics legend, also played 1,611 games over 21 active seasons (1976–1997). One of the greatest players in history, LeBron continues to accumulate records in a career whose outcome, at the end of this season, remains uncertain.

Since February 2023, the winger has held the title of greatest scorer of all time in the NBA, having surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and also holds other records, such as the most seasons (23) and appearances in All-Star Games (22).

On March 5th, he expanded his collection of historic milestones by breaking the record for the most successful field goals, a mark he also took from Abdul-Jabbar.
