OECD expert recommends cuts in family benefits

Vienna – In order to get the budget deficit and the high debt ratio under control in the medium and long term, OECD experts recommend, among other things, a cut in family benefits. Family transfers should be aimed more at low-income households and reduced for families with high incomes, said the OECD’s Austria expert, Falilou Fall, on Friday at an expert discussion on the OECD country report at the University of Vienna.
