Russian attacks in southern Ukraine have left one dead and four others injured, including a child, local officials said Friday. The Ukrainian attack claimed one victim on the Russian side, reports TASR based on a report by the AFP agency.
“The Russians attacked the Zaporizhzhia region at night. They launched two attacks in which they destroyed private houses,” Governor Ivan Fedorov announced on the Telegram platform. According to him, one 30-year-old woman died. In addition, two people were injured – a ten-year-old boy and a 48-year-old woman, he specified.

Kyiv’s air force announced that Russia had attacked the country with 159 drones, with air defense systems neutralizing 133 of them. Moscow attacked several areas, including the port city of Odessa, where authorities said two grain cargo ships were damaged and two crew members were injured. In the meantime, one person was killed in a Ukrainian drone attack in the Russian border region of Belgorod, local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram.
Ukrainian and American negotiators will meet in the United States on Saturday in an attempt to resume talks on the Russian invasion, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
