Wembanyama scores Spurs’ winning goal in the last second; see bid

Victor Wembanyama hit the decisive shot with 1.1 seconds left and capped a dominant performance of 34 points and 12 rebounds as the San Antonio Spurs beat the Phoenix Suns 101-100, last Thursday (19).

Wembanyama pulled one back with two free throws with 59 seconds left, and Fox chipped in for a layup, cutting the deficit to just one point with 26.6 seconds left.

The turnaround came after a decisive error by the Suns. Rasheer Fleming missed two free throws with 11.1 seconds left on the clock, giving the Spurs final possession. After a timeout, he held the play and, marked, hit a mid-range shot over Ighodaro to seal the victory.
