An accountant has been arrested for more than a week on suspicion of participating in the murder of the minister’s relatives, of the (Supreme Federal Court).
The arrest is kept confidential, but was confirmed to Sheet for the accountant’s defense, under the condition that his identity was not revealed. The report had access to the arrest warrant issued against the man, who admitted to having obtained the data illegally.
The arrest order was given by Moraes himself as part of the investigation investigating irregular access to tax data by magistrates and their relatives. Contacted through the STF press office this Saturday morning (21), the minister’s office has not yet commented.
According to Sheet found out, the accountant claimed to have been an intermediary between a person interested in the company’s confidential data and another who claimed to know how to obtain it. The names were presented to investigators, but remain confidential.
Lawyer Eric Cwajgenbaum, responsible for the accountant’s defense, states that he has been trying for a week to gain access to the decision that determined his client’s arrest. He says he was also unable to obtain the search and seizure orders and the use of an electronic ankle bracelet, determined at the beginning of the month.
“A week has passed without any request for access having been responded to. The minister’s office informed by email that there is no date available for dispatch and not even the decision decreeing preventive detention has been shown. Almost three weeks have passed without my requests even being considered. The case is serious. The violations of prerogatives are many”, he told Sheet.
This is the first arrest reported in the investigation into data leaks of STF members and their relatives. Until February, they had been the targets of search and seizure, with the installation of electronic ankle monitors.
Moraes’ decision in this case adds to other investigations conducted by the minister that deal with .
The accountant was the target of a search and seizure at the beginning of March. On the 6th, he went to the PF, where he gave his first statement. He decided to remain silent and left the place with an electronic ankle bracelet, on orders from Moraes.
A week later, he was arrested and, in a statement to the PF, he described his participation in the case and indicated the recipient of the document.
One of the documents obtained illegally was tax data from lawyer Viviane de Moraes, the minister’s wife. She is one of the centers of the crisis at the STF after the release of information about her contract with , currently in prison and negotiating a plea bargain.
Moraes’ order against the accountant indicated that he should be taken to the federal prison in Brasília, but he was taken to the José Frederico Marques prison, in Benfica (north zone), and, later, to Bangu 8, in the west zone.
The investigation began after an order from Moraes to ensure that the tax data of around one hundred people, including STF ministers and family members, could be broken in their systems.
O, which motivated the operations against suspects in the case. Among the suspects are a server from Serpro (a state data processing company), technicians and even a IRS guard.
A note from the STF at the time stated that there was “a block of accesses whose analysis, by the responsible areas, did not identify a functional justification”.
