Flávio, alongside Tarcísio, talks about acting against tariffs – 06/23/2026 – Politics

The senator (-RJ), pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic, indicated a new agenda with the governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), and said that he will act in the United States against the imposition of new tariffs on sectors of the Brazilian economy.

The statement was made this Tuesday afternoon (23) on the first day of Feicorte (International Meat Production Chain Fair), in Presidente Prudente, no.

According to Flávio, Brazilian rural producers are feeling the “incompetence and corruption of the current government”.

“Agriculture in particular should have more respect from the federal government, it should have more responsibility,” he said.

He added: “Once again on July 6th, I’m going to the United States to defend Brazilian companies, so that they are not taxed again on another 25% of our products that are exported to the United States, because we already have the most taxed companies in the world by the current government. It’s not fair.”

In addition to Tarcísio, the pre-candidate was accompanied by other right-wing politicians, who participated this Tuesday night in an event in the city of São Paulo.

It was the second joint appearance of both in four days – the first on Saturday (20) in Guarulhos, to the Senate of the president of the Legislative Assembly, André do Prado (PL).

The regional right-wing meeting also brings together, on campus 2 of Unoeste, pre-candidates such as federal deputy Guilherme Derrite (PP-SP), pre-candidate for the Senate, as well as André do Prado. The event is also the launch of the pre-candidacy of the former secretary of Guilherme Piai (PL-SP) for a vacancy in the Chamber of Deputies.

It is the second year in a row that right-wing politicians have focused attention on the opening of the event in Presidente Prudente, which will be held again in 2024 after a ten-year hiatus.

In his speech, Tarcísio hailed Flávio as a pre-candidate and future president and praised former president Jair Bolsonaro, with whom he was at the livestock event in 2025, before the former president’s house arrest.

Brazil, according to him, faced the Brumadinho disaster, Covid-19, War during the Bolsonaro administration and, despite this, ended with state-owned companies making a profit. “This legacy is under your responsibility today. You are preparing yourself and you will do your best, I’m sure”, said the governor to Flávio.

Last year, the governor’s official agenda event with Bolsonaro at Feicorte became an act of retaliation for the politician.

The main agribusiness events in the country, which generate billions annually in sales of agricultural machinery and animal exhibitions and auctions, have consolidated themselves in recent years as the territory of politicians linked to the right.

This was also the case at Agrishow (International Fair of Agricultural Technology in Action), held between the end of April and the beginning of last month in Ribeirão Preto (313 km from São Paulo), which featured Flávio and Tarcísio and direct criticism of President Lula (PT).

That day, the senator praised the governor and

This Tuesday, Tarcísio announced the delivery of rural land regularization titles for medium and large properties, formalized the donation of the Jacob Tosello exhibition grounds to Presidente Prudente, which had already been announced in last year’s edition, and inaugurated units of the Cozinhalimento project.

Before the right-wing act, the governor handed over the new Technical-Scientific Police complex, which brings together the IML (Forensic Medical Institute) and the Criminalistics Institute, in addition to police station renovations.

Feicorte has 140 exhibitors, 500 animals on display and 40 hours of technical content distributed until Friday (26). The expectation is to bring together 25 thousand people.
