One plane and one fire truck collided on the track airport of LaGuardia, New York.

The accident occurred in the early hours of Monday (Brasília time). According to the US press, the pilot and co-pilot died.

The Air Canada plane had 76 people on board (72 passengers and 4 crew members). 41 of these people were transported to the hospital; 32 have already been discharged and 9 are still receiving treatment – ​​some have serious injuries.

According to the local airport, the aircraft collided with a Port Authority aircraft firefighting and rescue vehicle that was provide assistance to another incident at that airport.

The plane in question was a twin-engine Bombardier CRJ-900, which had taken off from Montreal at 10:12 pm (local time). The collision, on runway 4 at the airport, occurred at around 11:45 pm local time.

LaGuardia Airport is closed. All departing and arriving flights have been canceled for now while investigations are ongoing.

The New York police have already warned that passengers should expect delays and asked everyone to avoid that area.
