Trump postpones strikes on Iranian energy facilities: “we had good conversations”

US President Donald Trump said on Monday (23) that the United States had good and productive talks with Iran and that he will order the Armed Forces to postpone any military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure.

“I am pleased to report that the United States of America and the country of Iran have, over the last two days, had very good and productive conversations regarding a complete and total resolution of our hostilities in the Middle East,” he said.

The statement was made this Monday (23) in a publication in Truth Social. According to the American president, the dialogue will continue throughout the week.

“Based on the tenor and tone of these in-depth, detailed and constructive conversations, I have directed the Department of War to postpone any and all military strikes against Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure for a period of five days,” he wrote in the post.

Trump mentioned, however, that the suspension of the offensives is subject to the success of ongoing meetings and discussions.
