What social media could have to do with an attempted murder by a 13-year-old Italian boy

The 13-year-old had planned his crime meticulously. He obtained a long hunting knife and a blank pistol – most likely on the Internet – then painted a white T-shirt with the words “VENDETTA” (revenge). On Wednesday morning he carried out his disturbing act: with his cell phone slung over his chest with the camera switched on, he entered his school in the province of Bergamo, met his French teacher in a hallway and stabbed her in the neck and stomach. Then he left as wordlessly as he had come. He was later overpowered by another teacher and two school guards.
