EBC signs partnership with China’s state-owned media group

Agreement with China Media Group establishes co-productions, exchange and use of artificial intelligence

The CEO of , , this week signed a broad partnership with , considered the largest communications group in the world, with more than 50 thousand employees.

For the Chinese counterpart, the agreement was led by the president of the CMG, Shen Haixiong, who is also a member of the Publicity Department of the Chinese Communist Party.

CMG is responsible for outlets such as , China National Radio and China Radio International, which offer journalistic and broadcast content in more than 40 languages. The agreement establishes cooperation in the area of ​​journalism, including the co-production of documentaries in partnership between the two institutions.

As part of the initiative, EBC will send a professional from Brazil Agency to act as correspondent in China, in collaboration with CMG. The partnership also includes the transfer of rights to display Chinese animations, in addition to the use of artificial intelligence tools applied to communication.

“China is the fastest growing country in the world in recent decades and we cannot keep our eyes closed to this country which, above all, is our main trading partner and a major investor in Brazil”said Basbaum.
