The minister, of the (Federal Supreme Court), denied a request for “free access” by ()’s children to the house in which the former president is under temporary house arrest.

In the decision signed this Saturday (28), Moraes said that the 90-day house arrest was granted in a “very exceptional” way and “exclusively for health reasons”, without changing the regime for serving the sentence, “which remains closed”.
“Replacing the place where the sentence is served should not be confused with progression to a more lenient regime”, the STF minister also stated.
Under house arrest, Bolsonaro returns to live with the former first lady, his daughter Laura, 15, and his stepdaughter Letícia Firmino. Moraes also allowed visits from his children — the senator (PL-RJ), (PL) and councilor Jair Renan (PL-SC) —, lawyers, doctors, as well as the ex-president’s house staff and security guards, but at specific times and by prior appointment.
Bolsonaro’s defense had asked Moraes for permission for all his children to have “free access” to the house, which was denied by the minister.
During the period of temporary house arrest, Bolsonaro will have to use and will be prohibited from using social media or recording audio or videos.
Moraes also stated that failure to comply with the “rules of temporary humanitarian house arrest” or any of the precautionary measures will result in immediate return to the closed regime or, “if necessary, to the penitentiary hospital”.
In September 2025, Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison by the Supreme Court for leading a coup attempt.
The former president was arrested at the Federal Police Superintendence in Brasília in November 2025, while under house arrest, after . He has a paranoia crisis. Later, he ended up being transferred to Papudinha.
