Egg – A 53-year-old ski tourer died on Saturday in an avalanche west of the Winterstaude summit in Egg/Schetteregg in Vorarlberg (Bregenz district). According to the police, the man had driven into the northern slope when the snow slab came loose and dragged him down over 295 meters and 214 meters, partly over rocky, steep terrain. The man ended up lying there motionless. Any help came too late for the winter sports enthusiast.
