Fire in the center of São Paulo leaves at least three properties destroyed

A large fire has hit at least three properties in the Brás region, in the center of São Paulo, since Saturday night (28).

According to the Fire Department, the call was registered at around 10:21 pm for an incident in a on Rua Sampaio Moreira. At the scene, teams found that the fire had started in a pool table factory and spread quickly to .

Given the intensity of the flames, the number of personnel was increased throughout the incident. In total, 22 vehicles and 59 firefighters were mobilized for the .

According to preliminary information, at least three properties were destroyed by fire. So far, there are no records of victims.

Still according to the State Civil Defense, Enel and Sabesp were contacted by the corporation, in addition to the Municipal Civil Defense. Enel stated that teams from the energy distribution company are on site to support the services along with the Fire Department.

Furthermore, Enel also confirmed in a statement that it had preventively disconnected the network on site to support the corporation’s work. The entire region within a radius of about a kilometer was left without electricity.

Sabesp confirmed that the water supply was not affected in the region, but they moved and carried out supply maneuvers directing water to the desired point.

Teams remain at the scene fighting the flames. Firefighters estimate that the operation will last at least another two hours. The causes of the fire are still unknown.
