This Sunday (29), the death of 2nd Sergeant BM Isnard was confirmed, which occurred during a diving mission on duty in the community of Rio Mirim, a tributary of the Juruá River, in Cruzeiro do Sul.
The soldier, who was assigned to the 4th Forest Fire Prevention and Combat Engineering Battalion (BEPCIF), died from drowning during the operation. The corporation did not detail the circumstances of the incident.
According to the official note, help was immediate. A health team was deployed by river to intercept the vessel and provide assistance during the journey to the city. Despite the rapid mobilization of rescue teams and hospital support, the firefighter did not survive.
The sergeant’s death generated a strong commotion in the corporation and in the community. CBMAC highlighted that Isnard was recognized for his commitment, courage and dedication to his mission to protect lives.

The institution’s command, through the 4th BEPCIF, informed that it is providing assistance to family members in this moment of pain.
In tribute, the Fire Department highlighted that the soldier honored the corporation’s oath to “Save Other Lives and Wealth”.
