The bill that regulates a national mileage policy for airline tickets paid for with public funds generates debate and tension for the airline market.
The proposal by deputy Lucas Abrahao (Rede-AP) gained urgency status this week.
The project aims to transfer the balance generated from miles and points from ticket purchases to finance travel for athletes, students and researchers. If sanctioned, this balance will no longer belong to the passengers.
However, there is fear that the State will gain control over the companies’ loyalty program, as well as the fear that miles will begin to be used as political currency, without transparency mechanisms.
