Jana Dvořáková from Prague shared her recipe.
“I’ve been making daisy syrup for a long time, especially in the spring when one day it seems warm and the next day it’s windy and cold. I have two small children, and even when I tell them to dress warmly, they don’t always listen to me, and then they lie at home with a cold or a cough, you know (laughs). However, they are soon relieved after the daisy syrup. Daisy syrup can be easily prepared at home, and I make it quite often in the spring.Jana stated for iReceptář.
Syrup of daisies
Ingredients:
About 120 grams of daisy flowers
750 milliliters of hot water
400 grams of sugar
2 lemons
Procedure:
“First, I gently rinse all the daisies and pour hot water over them. Then I cut up the lemons, add them to the water with the daisies and leave them to infuse overnight. Then all you have to do is drain the daisies, reheat them and briefly boil the sugar in them. When the syrup thickens, I store it in the refrigerator. When the kids are sick, I give them syrup on a spoon or add it to their tea. Even though it has to be infused for a long time, the preparation of the syrup is easy.” stated Jana for iReceptář.
