The level of the Juruá River reached 13.61 meters this morning (31), according to the Municipal Civil Defense, and already affects around 6,600 people in neighborhoods, rural communities and towns in the municipality. Despite the advance of the waters, there was still no need to remove families from their homes.

In total, 11 neighborhoods have already registered impacts from the flood: Remanso, Várzea, Olivença, Miritizal, Beira Rio, Lagoa, Manoel Terças, Cruzeirinho, São Salvador, Saboeiro and Centro.

In rural areas, there are also records of flooding in the communities of Centrinho, Tapiri, Humaitá do Moa, Praia Grande, Laguinho, Florianópolis, Laguinho do Carvão, Estirão do Remanso, São Luiz, Lago do Sacado, Simpatia and Ramal do Escondido.

Furthermore, the villages Lagoinha, Assis Brasil and Santa Rosa have flooding points. Other rivers in the region, such as the Croa River, the Juruá Mirim River and the Valparaíso River, also have high levels, increasing the alert in riverside areas.

According to the Municipal Civil Defense disaster coordinator, Iranilson Neri, City Hall teams are meeting to define support measures for affected families. Among the planned actions is the announcement of the first places that could serve as shelter, if residents need to be removed.

The situation continues to be monitored, and the trend will depend on the behavior of river levels in the coming days.
