Party alleges breach of decorum by PT deputy after calling INSS CPMI rapporteur a “rapist”
The Novo party filed on Monday (March 30, 2026) representation on the Chamber’s Ethics Council against the deputy (PT-RJ). The acronym accuses the congressman of breach of decorum for calling the deputy (PL-AL) from “rapist” during the session of . Read the (156 Kb-PDF).
In a note, the leader of Novo in the Chamber, (RS), stated that political divergence is legitimate, but that defamation in Congress cannot be normalized. According to him, the accusation of a serious crime without presenting evidence constitutes conduct that must be analyzed by the Ethics Council.
In the representation, Novo maintains that the PT member’s accusation was made without any evidence and states that the alleged victim mentioned by the deputy publicly denied the existence of an incident involving the congressman from Alagoas.
The party calls for the opening of disciplinary proceedings at the Chamber’s Ethics Council and the application of the penalties provided for in the House’s Code of Ethics, which range from suspension of office to loss of office.
