Wismar – A whale that had already been stranded several times got stuck in the shallow water off the island of Poel on Tuesday. Despite poor forecasts, experts don’t want to give up on the humpback whale off Wismar’s Baltic Sea coast. “The overall prognosis for the animal is not good. However, we are not giving up hope that the whale will move again on its own,” said a joint statement from the Environment Ministry and the organizations involved. There were no more rescue operations for the time being.
